1080P Home Theater PC
I can perform this magic by Wes Iseli on Penn-Teller Fool US show. After watching the show, I figure out this trick overnight.
My 2004 toy was to hand-built barebone hometheater
multimedia PC with AMD64 3700 and ASUS A8V motherboard $299, Kingston 2GB RAM $79
and SATA, $99 each 300 GB, and RAID controller with over total x TB external and internal disk-space, FusionHDTV
TitanTV one-click recording, audio output to 300
Watts Amplifier then to Advent legacy speakers (10" bass speakers in a big
wooden volume, 20 years old but excellent value). You can watch a recorded
concert and feel like a live concert, thunderstorm (Kitaro: Yakushiji -
Daylight Moonlight), cannon (Tchaikovsky 1812 overture), birds, horses,
wind, crickets (Imagenes), treble (Wagner: Ride of the Valkyries),
bass and fireworks (Phamton of the Opera: Masquerade) all sound real.
My dogs have gone behind TV many times to look for animals when the sound
of dogs was coming out from my audio system with TV. If you ever had
sit at front-row to listen a Tchaikovsky competition winner play
cello, you would know how music should sound like. The first thing
you want your audio-system is able to reproduce 20-20K Hz range where
human being can hear. (if the product did not say on the box, it typically
did not). Play heavenly Chris
Botti and Lucia Micarelli duet (similar
to Secret Garden group) will blow you away
(email me - HD 1080P 600 MB 6 minutes available). I
know a lot about sound system because my brother and cousin were old-timer audio-system mania. They
were the generation who hand-solders their vaccum-tube or transistor receiver/amplifier. I
know a lot of video imaging because I studied robotic vision
imaging processing and
pixel calculation. Many people don't understand it is NOT the bigger screen the better look. By the picture resolution, the
look depends on the distiance you view from. If your screen is
too big and you sit too close, the pixel looks too large and blurred,
the picture looks bad.
Starting 2007 I have built a Home Theater 64bit web host PC with ASUS motherboard output to 1080P
120 Hz display.
(I only spent $250 building a HTPC - Mobo, 4 GB RAM, and ATSC Tuner. Home Theater PC has been my DVR since 2004, before that, it was PC A(nalog)VR. Friends family can watch recorded non-stop HD x-days travel, x-days tennis, nature,
performances, movies in my house. Here is one very funny comedian Russell Peter and the very
funny Rice Ph.D. comedian Joe Wong. I am on my 3rd generation home-built theater PC now.
I am also involved HDTV service to bring HDTV to every computer. I have been involved in dentalweb that helps dentists business owners set up their office computers backup strategy, multi-media digital capture, LAN/wireless network etc.
