Tennis for life

I have been playing tennis since 1983. My uncle, my mom's younger brother who lives in Vancouver, was a middle-school physical-education teacher who taught me tennis. He played professional soft-tennis in Asia a generation ago. I used to play tennis at Houston local tennis clubs including Westside Tennis Club Houston, Fondren Tennis, Bay Area Tennis and Giammalva club. Back then Rice men's tennis coach Larry Turville and women's tennis coach Paul Blackenship were good friends of mine. I used to play local tournaments, and HTA, USTA leagues on men's team and on mixed team. My best tennis record was 1996 Houston Indoor Tennis Club Labor-day mixed doubles 3-days tournament, me and Ms. Candice C. won the tournament championship.Everybody needs a good partner, Candy grows up in Bay City and  starts playing tennis from young age. In mixed doubles, the woman has to at least hold the ground and attack on opportunities. Candice C. can do all that. The final is really a 4.0+ below 4.5 mixed double final. Today, I still play recreational 4.0+ tennis. I play with Justin Hennin's older model racquet Wilson nCode nTour 95. My most favorite racket was Prince ThunderLite Longbody. It is so light and has so much precision control, but is easy to get injury due to its lightweight-ness. (I can write a full page about how to choose a tennis racket by specs or demo.) I string my own and my wife's racquets. It is a lot cheaper using reel of string and you can change it anytime. I used my knowledge in physics to play tennis, for example, the height of the toss should be zero velocity at the highest point where you can reach with a leap off ground, i.e. when the ball is hit. This allows full transfer of body weight into serve power. Another example, the first server should be into the corner (forehand or backhand), the second server should be staight into receiver's body as a jammer. (The main reason is to prevent receiver running around attacks the weaker second serve, and avoid to serve out of sideline.) The probabilily winning is higher at this strategy. Of course, you should mix it up from time to time to confuse the opponents. If you play any balls you want to see the between legs shot of the year 2009 by Mistro Roger Federer. Now 2020 recent years, I still play tennis, mostly singles, sometimes doubles. I am actually a better doubles player like Heish, su-wei. I own a ball machine and play extended racquets and polyester string such as Volkl, Babolat RPM, and Gosen. Lately 2024 I play Wilson Blade 104 v8 with Luxilon Element 1.25mm, sometimes hybrid. Prior racquet was Head Speed XT Pro Rev. I also do other exercises such as swimming, elliptical, marshall art, with healthy time-restricted eating I designed.

I interned at car dealership during 2nd year in university. I was officially trained in automotive vehicle service. Aside from being teaching assistant at Rice University to earn a stipend, I also taught junior college level engineering thermodynamics and mechanics of mechanism at earlier era of my career. I do all the easy maintenance on my two cars. It is not how much money you save, it is the efficiency and fun. Cartalk - Tom and Ray  are my heroes.

We  hand-built a 15x12x3 lotus, waterlily pond in year 2000 at my backyard with a water fall and gold fishes. I string my own tennis racquets. We garden. We repair our house (maintenance) and cook delicious healthy food. We figure it out in North America if you want to eat healthy, you pretty much have to prepare it yourselves (salt, sugar, fat, chemicals) or pay hospital bills or fix cancer later. Home depot is often our vacation spot. I had taught Harris County community college database part-time '98-99 and Junior Achievement economics '93 at spare time.
